Asantehene’s wife Lady Julia pays bills of 26 patients on admission at KATH

Lady Julia Osei Tutu, the wife of Asantehene and patroness of Otumfuo Osei Tutu Foundation, funded the medical costs of 26 patients in Kumasi.

The GHC30,000 donation marked the International Day of Families.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu Foundation spearheads Asantehene’s social development mission. The Foundation has five themes. Education, health, water, sanitation, entrepreneurship, culture, and heritage.

The Foundation’s work to provide hope to the destitute and needy aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals to improve lives and well-being.

Some Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital patients are having trouble paying bills. The Otumfuo Osei Tutu Foundation visited Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital to settle the debts of moms who had given birth or had surgery but couldn’t pay.

The Foundation discharged 26 patients with a total debt of 30,000 Ghana Cedis who had been hospitalized owing to financial restrictions.

Hampers and GHC700 were also distributed. Dr. Oheneba Owusu-Danso thanked Lady Julia and the Otumfuo Osei Tutu Foundation for the gift.

Nana Afua Kobi Serwaa Prempeh, executive director of Otumfuo Osei Tutu Foundation, justified the choice to help breastfeeding moms.

“We are really extremely thrilled, this is a relief,” a benefit nursing mother stated.
