Ashanti Region Has Been Neglected For A Long Time –Asumadu Sakyi, Dir. of Kumasi Cultural Center

The Director of Centre for National Culture, Kumasi, Mr. Asumadu Sakyi has said successive governments have neglected the Ashanti Region even though it’s the hub of Ghanaian culture and talents.

Addressing a gathering when the newly appointed Tourism Ambassador, Bill Asamoah paid a courtesy call on him on Friday, February 15, 2019 at the Center for National Culture, Kumasi.

Mr. Asumadu Sakyi pleaded with the Minister of Tourism, Arts & Culture Hon. Catherine Afeku and NPP government to appoint more deserving industry players from the region into the Film Authority.

“We have talented people like our brother Bill, who can equally help in moving Asanteman and Ghana forward if giving the nod” he said.

Mr. Sakyi thanked the Minister for Bill’s appointment and called for Unity amongst stakeholders to support the actor achieve more.

“I’ll seize this opportunity to remind you Opemsour’s (Otumfour Osei Tutu II) 20th Anniversary Celebrations so take it into consideration what we’ll also do to support the activities.”
