Donalds was born and reared in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, attended Florida A&M University, and in 2002 he graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in finance and marketing.
Donalds held positions in the banking, insurance, and finance sectors before to entering politics. He was a Republican and a supporter of the Tea Party movement. In 2012, he made an unsuccessful bid for the U.S. House of Representatives. From 2016 until 2020, Donalds served as the Florida House of Representatives’ 80th district representative.

In 2003, Donalds started working at TIB Bank as a credit analyst. In 2004, he received a promotion to senior credit analyst, and he subsequently received promotions to assistant vice president, commercial credit manager, and credit manager.
In 2007, Donalds resigned from TIB Bank and began working as a portfolio manager at CMG Surety LLC. He started working as a Financial Advisor at Wells Fargo Advisors in 2015.Donalds was persuaded to run for government after joining the Tea Party movement.
In Florida’s 19th congressional district in 2012, Donalds ran as a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives. On a scale of one to six, he came in fifth. In 2014, he was reported as a likely candidate for the U.S.
