For an entertainment blogger who has been blogging around the niche for 4 years now, I have made soo many observations when it comes to several awards schemes in the country. I just love entertainment soo much and it’s one of the many reasons, I run this entertainment blog, which is not just any entertainment blog but a very very popular one as such, so it’s important that a big entertainment blog like ours, share our predictions on who will win what at the VGMAs.
This year’s VGMA which is happening this coming Saturday, 14th April, 2018 is going to be very competitive like previous years and there are some categories that, one could easily tell who would win, there are also others that, it’s very hard to predict who would win but I believe my predictions are going to be what would eventually happen on the main day.
Ghbase.com happens to be the second biggest and most visited Entertainment website in Ghana now based on Alexa rankings and makes it in the list of top ten (10) News websites in Ghana.—Any website, that brags about being the second biggest entertainment website or most visited blah blah is throwing dust into your eyes, check the Alexa ranking here..

Artiste of the Year For VGMA 2018
Comments: There are some of the categories, that I would want some people to win for personal reasons, but I feel they would not be able to gather enough votes to see them winning. For the best collaboration of the year for instance, I would prefer Becca ft Patoranking on Na Wash to win. For the Best New Artiste as well, I would also like Kuami Eugene to win, but it’s possible for him to take the award from King Promise.
And the album of the year, sincerely speaking, if I had a charm, I would make Sarkodie’s ‘Highest’ album win but Stonebwoy also did a good job on his and he deserves the win as well.
For the Song of the year, I think it’s the most competitive this year because every song in there did so well during the year under review. Fancy Gadam is such a great artiste and would have loved his ‘Total Cheat’ with Sarkodie to win but it’s tough a tough one, we cannot undermine how popular Sponsor was as well and the controversies it stirred, then there’s Shatta Wale’s ‘Ayoo’ as well but only one person has to win and I feel Ebony will take it there, if she doesn’t then she would take artiste of the year.
For the artiste of the year category, it’s between Shatta Wale and Ebony. It’s a very tough one to predict but my stance on who deserves to win has not changed. Both artistes did a lot last year, they were on all major shows, had hits, stirred controversies, etc. Before it was announced that Shatta Wale would be nominated, I was rooting for Ebony to win and emphasized that if Shatta was not going to come in, then Ebony would be the best person to win hands down and that was my stance even before her untimely death.
The board and academy, I believe are likely to give their votes to her for obvious reasons ( she did so well too, let’s be honest) but we don’t know what percentage would actually go to her favour. If it’s about public voting, Shatta Wale would have more votes as well. I feel the enthusiasm for Ebony fans to vote is not as high as that of Shatta fans.
Perhaps if she were here, things would have been different. Anyways, regardless I am hoping Shatta sweeps this one, if he’s unable, then it should go to Ebony.
