Popular South African songstress, Zahara, known in real life as Bulelwa Mkutukana has been fighting her former label boss, DJ Sbu claiming his label owes her.
The two parted ways in 2017 after joining TS Records own by DJ Sbu and her ‘Loliwe’ record which was released under the label became the fastest-selling album.
In an interview with eNCA in 2019, the songstress emphasized that the record label founder, Sbu Leope and Thembinkosi Nciza owed her millions of money.
However, Dj Sbu has counterclaim Zahara’s assertion alleging that Zahara isn’t aware that she is the one who owns the money and not vice versa.
Speaking on Massive Metro, he indicated that Zahara’s claims are lies noting that before she was parting ways with them she was a millionaire.
Sbu Leope indicated that when you go to the deep to the books of Universal Music you’ll found out that Zahara is owing them as he noted that both parties were receiving a 50% royalty rate but it wasn’t supposed to be that.
According to him, she was supposed to get a little lesser than that and the company gets a little more but she received the same percentage as what the label was receiving.
