Derrick Kwabena Bonney, popularly called DKB is doing everything possible to give an identity to Ghana’s comedy and so far we dare say he is on the right path. Concerning his marital status, the young man was asked by ghanaweb when he is walking down the aisle and he gave a very hilarious (hilarious herein subjective) response.
DKB said that he will not marry until his role models in the showbiz industry finally decide to marry. “I started watching Patrice Amegashie, John [Gemen], Sammy Forson, John Dumelo and Lexis Bill at a very tender age but till now they are not married, I don’t see the need to rush into marriage if my Grandfather ain’t,” he said.
The comedian said it is time these persons took the “marriage thing” seriously as it’s been a long time coming. He, however, hinted that he will want to marry a submissive and God fearing woman who will also be his number one critic when he finally makes the decision to marry.
“I want a woman who is God fearing, understanding and not the nagging type to marry, but since my grandfathers are still not married I don’t see why I should rush,” he added.
DKB’s career has been on the ascendency until he had a brief spell of misfortune recently when the former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings walked out on his programme, describing him as a boring comedian. DKB described the situation the worst moment of his life but has since moved on with one spectacular show that drew plaudits from the vice president of Ghana.
