Fast-rising Ghanaian rapper Kofi Jamar has called for total respect and reverence accord to the likes of Sarkodie, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy who have paved the way for young artistes like himself.
According to the “Ekorso” hitmaker, although some new artistes are doing well and their names are all over does not mean their seniors need to be disrespected for the sake of it.
This comment from Kofi Jamar comes on the back of the numerous debates on social media where fans and social media users are comparing some new artistes to the older ones and are boldly asserting that the newbies are doing better than the oldies.
From people comparing Yaw Tog to Sarkodie to Gyakie being compared to Efya, Kofi Jamar in a tweet has discouraged such unhealthy conversations and comparisons and called for total respect shown to the big dogs.
He wrote: Stop disrespecting people like Sarkodie, Shatta, Stonebwoy and the likes just because of an achievement made by we newbies. What we’ve come to see and accomplish is been their years of hardworking and consistency. Let’s put some respect on their names plsss
