Roman Fada, the manager of Ghanaian Highlife legend Daddy Lumba, has urged up-and-coming musicians who want to work with the icon to use the proper channels.
His comment comes days after KiDi expressed interest in working with the icon during an interview on Onua FM’s drive-time broadcast. KiDi had fondly mentioned that he had saved a particular tune for the highlife legend that he thinks will go perfectly with him.
However, Roman Fada says anyone who publicly expresses a desire for a partnership but doesn’t take the necessary steps won’t get any deal from Lumba.
His speech was also an answer to a question by the host as to whether Dada Lumba has the capacity to assist up-and-coming and young acts.
He told Larry the Oldman on Onua FM saying, “You can’t just go on social media or radio and say, I want to collaborate or feature Daddy Lumba. You need to accord him the respect he deserves.
“You need to reach out to him and tell him, ‘Daddy, I like you, and I have a song I want us to collaborate on’. You can’t sit somewhere and say it. Do you expect him to call you?”
