EL was in the studios of Peace Fm on their Entertainment Review show today (14th May,2016)  to thank fans for voting for him which earned him 5 awards at the just ended VGMAs out of 10 nominations.  The panel members on the show also took turns to ask him questions.

In one of the questions asked by Arnold Asamoah of Razz Newspaper, he questioned EL on why he made a statement on the night of the awards that Paedae was a good rapper.

Now, it would be recalled that on the night, when EL picked one of his awards, he made an emotional statement.

Everyone was really expecting Omar Sterling’s Nineteen Ninety to win the Hip Pop song of the year but unfortunately Sarkodie’s Hand To Mouth won the award in that category.

Reacting to why he said Paedae was a good rapper, EL revealed that, he felt he and Paedae did a very good job last year with Hip Pop and that even his ex-girlfriend would always be listening to Omar Sterling’s Nineteen Ninety’.

According to him, he saw Omar Sterling as his closest competitor and was really expecting either him or Omar to win. So when it didn’t go that way, he only made that statement to consolidate him as he felt sad Omar didn’t win it.

“It came as a shock to me, so in the heat of the moment I was really disappointed in myself and I felt I haven’t done enough to merit that recognition  and in my mind my only competition in that category was Omar Sterling because Omar had released Nineteen Ninety and which my girlfriend at the time was worrying me with”

“So that’s the completion I felt I had…..  The comment I made on stage was a sort of consolation to who I felt was my competitor …. and that’s not to take anything away from the big boss because look, I have been in the studio with Omar Sterling, I have been in the studio with Sark and they are beasts and whenever I am in the studio with them, I have to step up my game..” EL disclosed

El also mentioned that, he has no beef with Sarkodie and that it’s just an impression that people have and that he sees Sarkodie and Omar Sterling as great rappers.
