The lawyers for the petitioner filed for a stay of proceedings waiting a review of the Court’s ruling on their interrogatory of Jean Mensa, head of the Electoral Commission.

Lead counsel for the NDC flagbearer, Tstatsu Tsikata withdraws the hearing of the motion they filed on January 21, 2021. The court accepted the withdrawal of the case on the basis that once the petitioner has filed his witness statements, the hearing of that application is no longer relevant.

This action taken by the court opens the way for the hearing of the petition to be in line with the timelines given in C.I 99.

On Wednesday, January 27, 2021, the lawyers for the petitioner filed their witness statements as ordered by the Supreme Court. Their witnesses are the General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia and Dr Kpessa Whyte, party agent in the EC’s strong room.
