Gabonese man becomes a hero online after he married four women at same time (Photos)

A businessman from Gabon identified as Mesmine Abessole “Kether De Bonagere” has become an internet sensation after he married four women at the same time.

Mesmine married the four women namely Madeleine Nguema, Prisca Nguema, Nicole Mboungou, Carene Sylvana Aboghet, at a ceremony held in Libreville, Gabon on Saturday, July 31, 2021.

As a reminder, both men and women can join in polygamous marriage with the other gender under Gabonese law.

In practice, the right to multiple spouses is reserved for men only and in Kenya, polygyny legal under legislation passed in 2014.

Polygamy is most often found in sub-Saharan Africa, where 11% of the population lives in arrangements that include more than one spouse.
