It’s no news that Akufo Addo of NPP fame has been able to retire John Mahama from active politics following the EC’s declaration yesterday, December 9, 2020.
Before the declaration of the results, scores of NDC party members besieged the Electoral Commission headquarters protesting the results which at that time reflected a win for the ruling New Patriotic Party.
Nonetheless, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo has been declared the winner of the 2020 general elections.
During a press conference at the Commission’s headquarters in Accra, Nana Akufo-Addo polled 6,730,413, representing 51.595% while John Mahama garnered 6, 214, 889 representing 47.366% in the 8th election in the 4th Republic that had a dozen candidates.
The EC chairperson, however, disclosed that the result is not inclusive of the Techiman South ballots, however, its inclusion won’t change anything if the full results is given to NDC’s John Mahama.
Now, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling NPP Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi has been spotted viral footage dancing his heart out following the EC’s verdict in favour of NPP and Akufo Addo as Ghana’s president-elect.
