Management of GHOne TV has pulled the plugs on boxer and entertainer cum TV host- Braimah Kamoko, aka Bukom Banku over excessive bleaching which goes against the station’s policy and bad for their brand.
In an official statement released on one of its official social media handles, the station said Bukom Banku’s Show will not return in 2021 because it has served its purpose and impacted lives. The statement reads;
“Bukom Banku and management of GHOne TV wish to express our sincerest gratitude to cherished viewers and sponsors of the Bukom Banku Live show and the general public. The show will not be returning to your screens this January having served the purpose for which it was created during the political campaign season.
In its short life span, the show built an ardent following and made a considerable impact in a number of slum communities. We are grateful for the show of love and support. Watch out for a blockbuster. Season’s greetings”.
However, keen observers believe the station used a clever means to get rid of him owing to his bleaching, photos of which have gone viral already.
Moreover, Banku’s uncouth behaviour he exhibited in the build to the December 7 presidential elections where he was captured in a video insulting Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie for endorsing the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is a huge factor for his dismissal.
It’s against this background that the station thought they have had enough of him and decided to part ways with him, albeit diplomatically. See a screenshot of the announcement below;
