The Jubilee House has been thrown into an endless state of jubilation as Vice President Bwaumia and President Akufo-Addo congratulate each other following the ruling of the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court on Thursday, 4 2021 ruled in favour of the Electoral Commission, the New Patriotic Party and President Akufo-Addo when it dismissed Mahama’s petition case.
In fact, the apex court said the arguments and evidence brought before it by the petitioner do not have what it takes for the 2020 election results to be annulled and a re-run caused to happen.
“The petitioner did not demonstrate in any way how the errors affected the declaration of the election…We have therefore no reason to order a re-run [of the election].
We accordingly dismiss the petition,” Chief Justice, Kwasi Anin-Yeboah said while reading the ruling of the court.
Following that supporters and sympathizers of the NPP who were sitting on tenterhooks have heaved a sigh of relief as they pat one another on the back for a battle well fought.
In the close quarters of the Jubilee House, the citadel of Ghana’s absolute democratic power, Bawumia is bowing down to President Akufo-Addo as he congratulates him for emerging victorious in the court case.
Apparently, these two were in the same office as they observed the final ruling of the court.
