You would recall that Shatta Wale was in the United Kingdom some weeks ago to perform in Wembley with other African acts like P-Square, Flavour at an event dubbed “Dance Afrique”
Well, during his stay in the UK for the show, Shatta Wale passed through the Bang Radio studio to join Mc Timmy, Adescope and DJ Yun Milli on their Afrohits show to talk everything from his london trip, to his beef with Charter House and a whole lot more.
The dancehall king was asked several questions by the hosts of the show. Shatta Wale revealed on the show, that the main reason for him withdrawing from this year’s VGMAs was that, he wasn’t interested in any award from an organisation who is dragging his bu*t to court over some videos he had posted on his Facebook page.
Shatta disclosed on the show that, most of the Ghanian artistes are broke and live a life of deceit in the eyes of the public.
On the show’s Afro Hits 5 Questions, the very last question was very intriguing. He was asked to mention his top 3 African artistes and Shatta’s response got me awe-strucked!
Shatta Wale mentioned Davido, DBanj and 2Face as his top 3 African Artistes and surprisingly enough, he didn’t mention the name of even one single Ghanaian artiste!
That is his position and perhaps he must have his personal reasons for choosing those artistes as his favourites African artistes but I thought Shatta has been complaining about fighting for our own for a long time or it’s just a cloth of disguise that he’s been wearing all along?
Shatta is the very same person who went so hard on Gh one television simply because they stopped playing his music videos on their channel. He had attacked them for also playing more of Nigerian music videos than that of Ghanaian music videos.
If he is fighting with Charter House for playing Nigerian Musicians more and treating them better than Ghanaian musicians and also playing more of Nigerian music videos than that of Ghanaian music videos, I see no reason in him leading that crusade, since his top 3 favourite African artistes does not even consist of just one Ghanaian musician. He’s unequivocally saying that Nigerian artistes are far better than Ghanaians and this is even evidence at the point where he said he disagrees with Joey B that Nigerian rappers cannot touch Ghanaian rapper now.
Yes, Shatta Wale has every right to choose who his top 3 favourite artistes are, but for all to come from Nigeria, he has betrayed his very own and thus should stop complaining if Charter House treats our musicians unfairly, since he does not believe even a single act from Ghana, his own country qualifies to make it into his top 3 favourite African artiste.
