Husband kills wife, 12-year-old son before turning gun on self in Andover home

A man was found dead in their Andover home early Thursday after killing his 12-year-old son and wife in a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

According to officials, this incident is a case of domestic violence. The police reportedly responded at 3:20 a.m. to 48 Porter Road after a 911 call was made.

Essex County District Attorney’s Office disclosed that the police officers who arrived at the scene five minutes after the call was made had to force their way into the house through two doors.

Andrew Robinson, 56, his wife Linda Robinson, 55, and the couple’s 12-year-old son Sebastian Robinson, were found shot to death inside the home.

“The incident appears to be a tragic case of domestic violence and murder-suicide,” the DA’s office said in a statement. “Andrew Robinson died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.”

“This is a very good time to remind folks that if they are suffering from any mental health issues, any type of depression — services are out there,” Tucker said.

“Sebastian was a wonderful young man. He was kind and a gentle presence. He was well loved by his teachers — extraordinarily creative,” Hardiman said. “As I’ve talked with his teachers this morning, the description that they continually offer is, he was a gentle soul.”

The gym at St. John’s prep was full of students, families and teachers coming together to mourn the loss of the Robinson family.

Sebastian, 12, was a sixth grader at the school.
