The days are getting closer to the climax of the 20th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and all expectations are high with music enthusiasts backing Shatta Wale to win more on the night as he did with this year’s 3 Music Awards.
Other artists are seriously campaigning for the topmost award and it seems all have left the new category which is created every ten years to award the artist who has been consistent and influential over that period of time, which is Artist of the Decade to the VGMA board to decide since it’s a technical award.
In this has Shatta Wale decided to draw the attention of the VGMA Board and the general public, detailing why he deserves to win ‘Artist of The Decade’ award.
In a post on his Facebook wall, the self-acclaimed dancehall king wrote about how his journey to the apex of Ghana music started and why he deserves to win ahead of Stonebwoy, Samini and Sarkodie, Efya, R2bees, Nacy and No Tribe.
The artist talked about how he started as Bandana in 2003, went into hibernation and came back stronger than ever as Shatta Wale in 2009.
He added that everybody knows what he’s done between the period under review and will not worry himself to fight for what is rightly his.
