Politician Bernard Antwi Bosiako aka Chairman Wontumi has spoken fondly about his time at Prempeh College and how he has been able to make it in life even though he was an average student.

According to the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, teachers looked down on him because he was unable to grasp terms and definitions. Some wrote him off based on his grades especially when he was always on the list of losers.

Addressing his former schoolmates of Prempeh College to mark the 25th anniversary of his year group 1996, Chairman Wontumi was proud of himself for the strides he has made as a determined young man who did not allow his grades to determine the trajectory of his life…a downward trajectory many had predicted.

“Because I was driving my Ferrari when I arrived, they claimed that one of the teachers came in and complained about the noise. This is what God has done; if you are wealthy, the signs will show you that this man has changed “…

He stated that he purposefully brought the car to campus to motivate the students.

“I was an average student (sic), always finishing last but ten in class… So we’re here to make friends, to uphold our integrity, and to help you grow in wisdom. What the teachers teach us in class is simply a certificate that allows us to go out and practice it in the real world “.
