Araba Forson, the disgruntled mother of a transgender singer, has stated her willingness to strip and walk to Parliament in protest of the anti-LGBTQ bill if it becomes law.

The Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill, according to Araba Forson, is hostile legislation designed to promote hatred for Ghana’s LGBTQ community.

Araba Forson, who also claims to be a pastor, expressed her rage by describing the bill’s supporters as insensitive individuals who are unable to empathize with the differences of others.

Araba Forson, referring specifically to Ningo-Prampram MP Sam George, stated that supporters of the bill should be more concerned with issues such as corruption rather than LGBTQ rights.

When asked about her earlier threat to march to Parliament to protest the bill if it becomes law, Araba Forson told Benjamin Akakpo on Friday’s Prime Morning Show, ‘I don’t care… oh yes! ‘Why do you have to criminalize someone’s sexual orientation?’

Tons of Ghanaians share Araba Forson’s sentiments, believing that the current bill before Parliament is an affront to human rights and must be repealed.

A segment of the population is also concerned that if the bill becomes law, Ghana will lose aid from some of its foreign donors who sympathize with the LGBTQ community.

Meanwhile, when Parliament returns from recess on Tuesday, October 26, 2021, it is expected to begin deliberations on the bill.
