I’m not inspired yet to do a diss song against NPP – Barima Sidney

AFRICA Money, Donkomi and Enko Yie are songs Hiplife musician Barima Sidney had dissed previous regimes with when the going got tough for the country, but he has been unusually quiet in recent times despite the harsh economic conditions.

He is, however, giving warning that if he gets the inspiration, he may perform a song to draw attention to contemporary socioeconomic difficulties.

To him, his silence is not due to ignorance of the difficulties the nation faces, but rather because he has yet to find the motivation to write such a song.

Barima Sidney explained his decision to remain silent, saying, “I don’t simply stand onstage to sing songs. If I don’t feel inspired, I won’t do it myself. Songs aren’t merely made available to the public because they ask for it.

“It’s true, I need to say something, but I am waiting for inspiration. Anything can happen anytime. I can come out with a song anytime. I am unpredictable.

“Secondly, I endorsed this administration. I admit that times are hard, but I still have hope that something good can be done. If the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is a sinking ship, I won’t jump out, I will help them get out of the storm.

“I still have hope that they can turn things around,” he told Graphic Showbiz on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.

Barima Sidney also debunked the impression the government has bought his silence with a huge sum of money. ‘’No one has paid me to be quiet. I am unpredictable. Anything can happen at anytime.”
