Ghanaian actor John Dumleo does not agree with the government’s decision to tax Ghanaians for the freebies they enjoyed during the outbreak of Coronavirus last year.
The Governemnt of Ghana, last year rolled out the free water and free electricity policy to alleviate the burden on Ghanaians due to COVID-19.
However, the government has announced through the Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah that Ghanaians need to brace themselves up to pay for the freebies through the introduction of new taxes.
Reacting to this, John Dumelo believes the government has not been fair to Ghanaians by giving out freebies (in the true sense of the word) and now asking them to pay for it through taxes.
He wrote the following on Facebook.
….when you lie to people that you giving them free things, only to come back and say “oh remember what I gave you”, it’s time to pay, that’s deception!
