Amidst the brouhaha shrouding Sarkodie’s input on Bob Marley’s ‘Stir It Up’ remix, the revered Ghanaian rapper has emerged to throw his weight about by tagging himself the best rapper amongst his contemporaries.

In a recent interview with CNN Africa, Sarkodie talked about how receiving this opportunity has helped take his music career to new heights.

In essence, the Ghanaian rapper has previously claimed that his work on Bob Marley’s “Stir it Up” remix is one of his biggest musical endeavours to date. He contrasted the way Ghanaians view reggae and Bob Marley to how he holds the rap title there.

He is quoted as saying;

“People actually think Bob Marley invented reggae. Because when you think about reggae, that’s all you think about – Bob Marley. That’s the benchmark, or whatever… that the guys use. And that’s the same thing when it comes to rap with Sarkodie.

Back in Ghana, in every conversation, I’ve been drawn in for no reason. That’s like the person they use. That’s what I mean by rap, I’m like Bob Marley,”

Then again he said he was surprised when he was called upon to give his verse on Bob Marley’s song.
