Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju James, better known as Baba Ijesha, has been sentenced to 16 years imprisonment for 𝓼𝓮𝔁𝓾𝓪𝓵𝓵𝔂 the daughter of actress Damilola Adekoya aka Princess.
Instablog9ja reports that the beleaguered actor was handed his sentence by a Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos on Thursday, July 14.
The report from the popular website also stated that Baba Ijesha was convicted of indecent treatment of a child, sexual assault and attempted by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo in a two-hour judgement
Taiwo, however, discharged and acquitted him of count one and count six, which were: s#xual assault by penetration and attempted s#xual ass@ult by penetration.
Recall that the convict was arrested in April 2021 for the aforementioned offence.
In a previous development to this protracted case, Baba Ijesha sensationally told the court that it was Princess who gave her the go ahead to defile her daughter because he thought they were interpreting the movie script.
He told an Ikeja Special Offences Court that he was acting a script with the minor he was accused of defiling. He made this revelation while being led in evidence by the defence counsel, Dada Awosika (SAN).
In a report posted by Instablog9ja, Baba Ijesha told the court that the foster mother of the minor, Ms Damilola Adekoya, a comedian also known as Princess, had called and requested him to be part of the movie production.
“On April 19, 2021, Princess sent me a message that she wanted to start a production and she would like me to play the role of a lover boy which I replied ‘okay’.
She said I was to play the role of a lover boy, adding that she wanted to surprise people that I can also play normal roles. She said the story is about r@pe and she wanted to tell the story in another dimension,” he said.
The defence counsel tendered before the court, a printout of WhatsApp message between Princess and the defendant, which was admitted into evidence by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo.
Continuing his ridiculous defense in court, the embattled actor said. “Before I entered, Princess met me at the balcony that the movie production was a Lagos State project, adding that the state wanted her to be the face of ‘anti-child m0lestation.’
