The police station at Krofrom CPC in the Ashanti Region has been locked up by the owner of the property.

Access to general police services, including the charge office, criminal records, and the issuance of police clearance certificates, has been suspended at the police station.

People from the neighborhood who flocked to the police station to report were let down.

According to reports, the police station’s regular operations have since been suspended as a result of the closure.

The Assembly member for CPC Electoral Area, Kwaku Appiah speaking on Kumasi-based Akoma FM said “the police station has been operational for over thirty years and it has been housed in the said home at CPC by the same landlord so the police administration was served notice of eviction some three years ago and little did we know that the deadline of the eviction was ending of July 2022.”

He urged the local police administration to act quickly to set up an office station at CPC to aid in the neighborhood’s fight against crime.

However, some locals have already expressed joy over the locked police station.

You may remember that on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at Krofrom CPC, a man in his 40s who was supposedly lynched for stealing was suspected.

After reportedly robbing a nearby house, the suspect was pursued and killed.

The yet-to-be-identified individual was found dead after Assembly Member Kwaku Appiah claimed to have the information and raced to the scene.

He claimed to have informed the Tafo-Pankrono police about the incident and transported the body to the mortuary at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for preservation.
