Kumawood Actress Maame Serwaa Appears On BBC (+ Video)

Kumawood sensational actress Clara Benson famously known as Maame Serwaa featured on a BBC documentary where she discussed her career, charity in Ghana and other topics.


Speaking as a guest on the British Broadcasting Corporation’s documentary, the young actress cried for support and more opportunities for the African women, she stated that with more support and avenues the world would believe in the African woman more.

The BBC is making a children’s programme for children across the African continent and their main focus in Ghana, is the film and movie industry. A member of the crew, while documenting the actress on set, said “all the children we spoke to love her and we want to share that love with the continent.”


The 18-year-old who began her acting career at a tender age recounted some of the challenges she came across while trying to make a mark for herself in the movie industry.

She disclosed further that while that menace was and is still prevalent in the industry, she never agreed to “go down” with any producer before being given a role. Serwaa explained that she knows her value and talent as an actress. Therefore, she allowed those attributes to speak for her rather than the roles.
