Former First Lady and wife of former president John Dramani Mahama, Lordina Mahama has together with her four sons casted their vote at the La Dadekotopon constituency in the Greater Accra region.
They were all spotted clad in white as they went to cast their votes at about 11:15 am at the Next Page polling station at Tse-Addo. John Mahama on the other also cast his vote at Bole Bamboi the Upper East region with his favorite daughter Farida Mahama.Both Mahama and Farida were also clad in white attires.
Over 17 million voters are expected to take part in the December 7 election.The leading front runners in the 2020 polls are incumbent President Nana Akufo-Addo, representing the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), and the presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama.
Ten other candidates are also in the race to be elected as president to manage the affairs of the country, with 275 single-member seats in parliament up for election as well.
Polls opened from 7 am and it will end at 5 pm in 38,622 polling stations in all the 275 constituencies nationwide.
The 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections will go down in Ghana’s electoral history as the biggest slate of candidates since the country began democracy.
