After an emotional return to Old Trafford, Manchester United have confirmed Cristiano Ronaldo will wear the iconic No. 7 jersey.

Edinson Cavani, who wore the shirt last season, will now take over the No 21 shirt left vacant by Dan James, who joined Leeds in a £30 million deal last week.

After being granted permission by the Premier League, the club confirmed the striker’s return to his old shirt number.

On Tuesday, August 31, Ronaldo’s return was finally confirmed, with the Portugal star completing his dramatic move from Juventus and becoming a United player for the second time in his career.

The No. 7 shirt has a long history at Old Trafford, having been worn by legends such as George Best, Bryan Robson, Eric Cantona, and David Beckham.
