Let’s explore his life briefly for a balance.

Since 2019, Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson, a British politician, has served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party. From 2016 to 2018, he served as Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, as well as Mayor of London from 2008 to 2016. Johnson has served as the Member of Parliament for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2015, having previously served as the Member of Parliament for Henley from 2001 to 2008.

Johnson studied Classics at Balliol College, Oxford, after attending Eton College. In 1986, he was elected President of the Oxford Union.

He joined The Daily Telegraph as a Brussels correspondent in 1989, eventually becoming a political columnist, and was editor of The Spectator magazine from 1999 to 2005.

Johnson served as a shadow minister under Conservative leaders Michael Howard and David Cameron after being elected to Parliament in 2001.

He did not run for mayor again the following year. In the 2016 European Union (EU) membership referendum, he became a key voice in the successful Vote Leave campaign for Brexit.

Following the referendum, Theresa May selected him as Foreign Secretary; he resigned two years later in protest over May’s approach to Brexit and the Chequers Agreement.

Johnson was elected Conservative leader and appointed Prime Minister after May resigned in 2019. He reopened Brexit talks and controversially prorogued Parliament in early September; the Supreme Court found the measure illegal later that month.

Call Milo Arthur Johnson a lucky child for having such an accomplished man as a father, but he is very much charting his own path to being an accomplished man.

Boris Johnson became UK Prime Minister on 24 July 2019 after taking over from Theresa May.
