The 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) nominations have been announced and as usual it is characterize by lots of controversies. While music enthusiasts are arguing that some artistes don’t deserve to be nominated for a particular category. Some artistes also feel they have been robbed and deserved to be nominated because they worked very hard in the year under review.
One of such acts who feels he should have been nominated for a particular category is Obibini. Obibini released a smashing hardcore record last year dubbed, “The Statement”. The raper in a recent interview has posited that for such a mind boggling record to be excluded from VGMAs Best Rapper Category is unfortunate.
Speaking on Kumasi-based Sika Fm entertainment show dubbed ‘the Flavour Zone’, the musician when asked how he makes of the latest Vodafone Ghana Music Awards nominations, he said;
“It’s a shame that Obibini’s Statement is not included in the category. Whoever sat down and brought out the list without Obibini should be ashamed of himself.”
The Zylofon Music signee, however, accepted the fact that though he did not get the nomination for this year’s category, he believes other artists on the list are equally good and talented. As a reminder, this year’s category nominees competing for the best rapper award includes Teephlow, Strongman, Eno Barony, Sarkodie, Lil shaker and Kojo-cue.
