Over the past few days, news of the death of Stacy Offei Darko, the former Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship Innovation Programme (NEIP) has shocked many Ghanaians on Social Media. It was reported that she died at Dr. Obengfo’s hospital in Accra and the doctor and hospital authorities hid her death from her mom and only told her after the third day when they realised they couldn’t keep hiding the truth anymore.
Although the late Stacy’s mum had debunked claims that her daughter had gone there for liposuction and died during the process, Kennedy Agyapong who happens to have a child with her has disclosed that she died when she was undergoing liposuction to have her arms and thighs reduced in size.
The MP for Assin Fosu made the declaration on his own Tv station, NET2
“I have a child with Stacy. In fact she celebrated her sixth birthday just recently on April 5th but Stacy and I were not together. She had her life to live,” he explained.
“Stacy didn’t die from Malaria like the mother is saying. If she says that it’s wrong because she’s disgracing the doctor as well. According to John Boadu, Stacy complained of excess fat in her biceps and thighs and decided to do a surgery at the Obengfo Hospital. The doctor wasn’t able to attend to her on the Saturday John Boadu drove her and the other lady there but promised to do that on Monday.”
Her mother speaking earlier in an interview with Joy FM yesterday disclosed that her daughter told her she was tired and was only going to Dr. Obengfo’s hospital to get some rest. She even said that, even if her daughter wanted to do liposuction, she would go and do that overseas and not here in Ghana.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested Dr. Obengfo and several of his nurses for further investigations. The cleaner who also posed as a family member to get her into a morgue has also been arrested.
