Mzvee Blows Her Own Trumpet, Says has Achieved So Much Considering Her Age

Dancehall artiste Mzvee has told a group of young men and women the appreciable height she has reached in her career considering the fact she is only 24-years old.

The borkor borkor singer, born Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda was making a submission during the National Women’s youth; a program specifically designed to ostensibly empower them, urged the participant to be responsible and have foresight to be able to get to their required destination.

The sexy singer said, “There are so many days that I’m in the studio and getting ready with my boss to record something and I smile at myself because I’m just 24 years old but I’ve done so much already in a very short period of time and can’t even understand.

I’ve worked with so many amazing people, I’ve sat with the biggest people and working with the World Bank, I’m working with UNICEF, I’m giving speeches at TedX and besides I’m not just a musician as many people think artistes only shake their bodies.”

Touching the subject of criticism she receives as a musician she disclosed that, “What gives me drive is determination. I wouldn’t be here today if I wasn’t determined. It’s amazing because I’m a very emotional person and people keep asking me how I deal with people bashing me on social media.

In my first year of music I was always crying and complaining to my mum and I usually get upset but today when I see comments like that I see it as people’s opinion and I’m still learning every day and I’m always determined to do it no matter what I go through.”

Indeed Mzvee has been incredible since her debut album in 2014 after breaking away from the all-girl band, D3. Natural Girl, Dancehall Queen, Borkor Borkor are still popular and she has earned a cult figure among the youth.

Mzvee has collaborated with heavyweights in the Ghanaian music industry like Stonebwoy, Zeal of VIP, Shatta Wale and M.anifest. She also received an impressive 7 nominations at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards in 2016.

BET recongsed her talent and in June 2015 in the ‘Best International New Artsite category.

She really achieved a lot within a short period and we don’t think she is bragging at all.
