NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako has been shot at by a Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Hon Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.
Chairman Wontumi and other party leaders who supported departing National Secretary John Boadu should resign from their jobs, according to the Politician.
After the results of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Executive elections were announced at the Accra Sports Stadium yesterday, he made this clear.
“Because he doesn’t own this political party, Wontumi should chill off,” he says. Because of the way he was acting and whipping all of the Chairmen into unwillingly raising their hands, the answer is yes. In the event that all of the Chairmen had resigned, they would have been humiliated.
“I’ve learned that the lack of unity in the party is directly related to the fact that party leaders openly support each other, so this time I vowed to refrain from publicly endorsing anybody. The people will vote for you if you are a nice person and they believe in your job. I decided to remain away, so I did.
“However, this is the first time in the history of the NPP political party that you saw 15 chairmen raising their hands in protest after being whipped in their seats. As party chairman, they should understand that starving your people won’t make them alter their beliefs. That’s why we’ve made this choice, he added.
