‘Patapaa Nearly Killed My Career With His ‘One Corner’- Shatta Wale

It’s now obvious that Shatta Wale thinks the music landscape is his bona fide property, hence feels highly threatened when a new song from a different artiste is making massive waves in the country.

Admittedly, no Ghanaian artiste comes close to Wale when it comes to consistency. He had lot of hits in 2017 and the previous years. However when the viral song ‘One Corner’ from Patapaa took center stage, he was somewhat overshadowed.

Against this background, Shatta Wale quickly went to the studio to record ‘Freedom’ which is making massive waves in Ghana now. The song has been ‘useless’  by critics but Wale said he was only acting smart, besides hit song like ‘You Say Wetin’ composed by Zigi 7 years ago is equally nonsense but boils down to creativity.

Shatta Wale detailing why he did the ‘Freedom” song, said thus:

Let me confess today. Patapaa worried me a lot so he made me record the freedom song. I wanted to give the song to him but I changed my plan later. I’m saying this and God knows that I am not lying. That is how smart I am.

Patapaa’s One corner got me asking why God didn’t bring the hit song to Accra but took it to Swedru. Tell Patapaa I love him so much but he nearly killed my career.
