Ghanaian Hip Life artiste Kwame Yogot has lamented about he is not benefitting from his music career as a rapper.
The rapper in an interview on Class FM disclosed that he has been in the rap game for a long time but has not benefitted financially.
“We’ve rapped for a long time but it has not given us anything. We blend it with singing and other things. We’ll, however, still rap but we’ll also make it [a] commercial [sound]. We’ll mix in a lot of things.”
Kwame Yogot has however dropped a new track recently titled, ‘Nobody’ featuring singer King Maaga. He explained that he switched from doing rap to doing normal singing because his fans have been trooping in and out of his inbox on social media requesting him to release a love song.
He disclosed the reason behind this new direction, “They [fans] requested for it. They said I’ve given them enough street songs. The song I planned to release this year was not even a love song but this is what the fans like.”
“They said they want something like this and so I dropped it for them. The thing is if there are no fans, I won’t also be here. That said, there’s a hard one that will follow this. This is the only one they [the fans] are getting for this year so they should enjoy it.”
