It has now become apparent that Wizkid wasn’t nominated for this year’s Grammys, contrary to the previous news which says the Nigerian singer has gained his first nomination alongside Burna Boy.

The misconception was created moments after the nominees were released and Wizkid‘s song with Beyonce, Brown Skin Girl got the nod for Best Music Video and which by defult makes Wizkid a nominee.

However, a clarification of this is available on the Grammys website which clearly states that Wizkid isn’t recognized as one of the artists on the “Brown Skin Girl” video nominated for the “Best Music Video” award.

The Grammys nominated and recognized “Beyoncé Knowles-Carter & Jenn Nkiru, video directors; Lauren Baker, Astrid Edwards, Nathan Scherrer & Erinn Williams, video producers”.

Yes, it’s true Wizkid been featured in the ‘Brown Skin Girl’ video but the Nigerian star by the criteria given out doesn’t qualify to be a nominee.
