Career
Ritika began her career at an early age. At the age of seven, she started taking kickboxers and mixed martial art practice from her father. She soon became a professional kickboxer and participated in several kickboxing and mixed martial art competitions; at both local and international levels including the 2009 Asian Indoor Games and Super Fight League.
In 2013, Ritika was selected for a lead role in the Hindi film, “Saala Khadoos” directed by Sudha Kongara Prasad. Ritika played the role of Madhi, a Marwari girl who was brought up in the slums of Chennai and she was selected for the role because the filmmakers wanted a professional boxer. The directors later remake the movie in Tamil and Telugu, which she did very well.
Her fantastic role in the film earned her several popular awards like National Film Award – Special Jury Award, Ananda Vikatan Cinema Award for Best Actress, IIFA Utsavam for Best Actress, Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Tamil, SIIMA Award for Best Debut Actress, Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut and Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress – South.
