Retired Jamaican sprinter will be honoured in Florida as South Florida Sun-Sentinel authorities are set to erect a statue in the honour of the multiple Olympic gold medalists.
The statue dedicated to retired sprint kingpin, now Dancehall music producer Usain Bolt is set to be erected in the city of Miramar in Florida.
The cost of the monument, which is set at US$250,000 (J$38 million) will help to attract “more international, world-class athletic events to the region.
Bolt, who retired from track and field in 2017, still holds the world record in the 100m and 200m. Now a music producer, he recently released a debut album with his friend and manager NJ titled Country Yutes, and has produced several Dancehall riddims including Clockwork (2021), Immortal (2020), and Olympe Rose (2019).
