The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission(EC), Madam Jean Mensa has expressed profound appreciation to Ghanaians for helping her organize and spearhead the 2020 General Elections.

According to her, the support Ghanaians gave her before, during and after the electoral process ensured that the 2020 Election was generally free, transparent and fair.

Writing her Thank You Note on Twitter, Madam Jean Mensa who has been vehemently criticized by the opposition party and a section of Ghanaians for organizing what they describe as an “unfair election” said she is certain that the 2020 election was not flawed.

“I do thank you for following me. With your support, together we can ensure that every election process is Free, Fair, Transparent, Peaceful, and Credible. Thank you once again and may God bless our homeland, Ghana, and make our nation great and strong.”

The 2020 Election results were not accepted wholly by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and their flagbearer John Dramani Mahama who expressed doubts about the dealings of the EC.

It ended up in the Supreme Court where after weeks of legal battle, the court declared that the election as conducted by the EC and the results declared were true and factual.

However, many Ghanaians still believe Madam Jean Mensa could have done better especially with the prior wrong election figures she churned out.
