The former Deputy Information Minister under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the John Dramani Mahama administration, Felix Kwakye Ofosu has said that the Nana Addo/ Bawumia government has made the Ghanaian economy worst.
According to Felix Kwakye Ofosu, This is the worst economic performance in Ghana for forty years, something that Nana Addo and Dr Bawumia saw to, as they are in charge of the economy, having taken over from the NDC in 2017.
He opined that they Nana Addo/Bawumia administration took over at the point the GDP was below 56% but that percentage has now skyrocketed to some 80%, making it the worst performance in forty years.
Felix Ofosu Kwakye said this when he reacted to an article by myjoyonline.com that says that Ghana risks being under some economic pressure as the country’s debt stock could potentially rise to 80% by the end of the year.
According to the failed NDC parliamentary aspirant for the Abura Asebu Kwamankese constituency in the just-ended presidential and parliamentary elections in Ghana, this is staggering and way beyond HIPC levels.
Felix Ofosu Kwakye tweeted;
“The Akufo-Addo /Bawumia government has delivered the worst economic performance in forty years. When they took over, our debt to GDP ratio was under 56%, now it is nearing a staggering 80% which is way beyond HIPC levels.”
