62 years and still on but the country called Ghana seems to lack a lot especially in reference to her education sector.
Simply put, nothing works better in Ghana meanwhile those in authority continue to sit aloof. Most recently, Ghana Education Service (GES) in collaboration with West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) made Ghanaians privy to the readiness of S.H.S placement portal.
Per GES communiquè, the portal will help students who just sat for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E ) get to know the various Senior High Schools (S.H.S) they’ve been placed to continue their education.
However, the reality is far different from what’s on paper as the designed portal don’t work as expected. As a result, guardians of students’ facing challenges with their ward’s placement were advised to assemble themselves at Independence Square, Accra.
But the happenings at Independence Square, Accra as we speak is just uncalled for as both guardians and students are running helter skelter for obvious reasons. The atmosphere is more confusing and GES officials available seem to have lost control.
