Wayoosi Recounts How Much He Was Paid For The Movie That Made Him Famous

One of Kumawood’s greats, Wayoosi has recounted how much he was paid for starring in a movie at the beginning of his acting career.

 

In an interview with Enter Chat, the midget actor revealed that actor Agya Koo received the highest amount of GH¢200 for his role played in same movie whereas he got GH¢50.

Born Joseph Nana Kofi Osei stated emphatically that the amount was more than enough and he did enjoy the acting because he found himself in the midst of very popular and respected actors.

 

He further disclosed how he got the name Wayoosi after playing a role with Mikki Osei Berko, Santo, Suzzy Williams, others in same movie titled ‘Awieye’.

“My first time on a movie set, acting with top actors like Agya Koo, Santo, Joojo Robertson, Master Richard and Suzzy Williams was in a movie titled ‘Awieye’. I was dumbfounded and a bit nervous seeing these actors but I mastered courage and played my role very well. All the actors clapped for me after my role on set.

“Master Richard approached me to feature in his popular television series dubbed ‘Dada Boat’. So through Master Richard and featuring in Dada Boat TV series, I got the name WAYOOSI. Interestingly, I was paid GH¢50 for the role I played in ‘Ma Tricki Wo’ movie whereas Agya Koo received GH. ¢200 in the same movie”,Wayoosi revealed.

Reports have it that Wayoosi considers Lord Kenya as his godfather. He claims Lord Kenya now evangelist introduced him into the entertainment world by accepting him into his [Lord Kenya’s] dancing group called “Mabosa”.
