‘We Won’t Nominate DJ Black Again, He Should Return All The Awards He Won Previously To Us’- Organiser Of Ghana DJ Awards Fumes

We can’t tell if the surprise DJ of the Year Award won by DJ Switch few days ago at the 2019 Ghana DJs Awards is directly proportional to this very report but whichever way, the signs on DJ Black’s wall do not look good.

This follows a strict warning issued by the organizer of Ghana DJ Awards, Merqury Quaye to the famous Disk Jockey to return all his plaques he won in the previous years with the scheme.

Speaking on Joy FM’s ‘Showbiz A to Z’ show with host Naa Ashorkor, Merqury indicated that DJ Black has been telling him privately that he does not want to be nominated again by the Ghana DJ Awards committee but he (Merqury Quaye) advised him to issue a statement to that effect.

He said when he was nominated for this year’s award ceremony, DJ Black messaged him privately on WhatsApp to ask him if he will win, otherwise he won’t attend the ceremony.

“I want to ask DJ Black that if he has told us not to nominate him, how does he slide in my DM (WhatsApp Direct Message) to ask me if he is winning this year, how does that conversation come up?” he quizzed.

He then instructed DJ Black to return all the plaques he had received from his organisation if he insists he is not interested in the awards.

“If you have ever told me not to nominate you for the Ghana DJ Awards, then today I am telling you that all the plaques that have been presented to you by the Ghana DJ Awards, all the prizes that you have received from the Ghana DJ Awards return them, return all the sound systems,” Merqury Quaye said with anger.
