Ghanaian broadcaster Giovanni Caleb has given reasons for why he has to turn himself into an overnight comedian anytime he is on television.
According to him, it is part of his job to make people laugh especially after a hectic day.
Answering the question from rapper Okyeame Kwame on why he has moved from that serious guy during his university-days to a stand-up comedian on television, Giovanni Caleb said it is the jokes that pay the bills.
In other words, if he does not force himself to make his viewers laugh and enjoy the show, they will tune off, their ratings will fall and advertisers will not be ready to work with them.
However, Okeyeme Kwame said Giovanni Caleb has broken his heart by moving away from that serious guy to a comedian who has to tell jokes regardless of how interesting they are every time on television.
This question has become imperative especially when the former host of Date Rush on TV3 Nii Kpakpo was sacked and viewers were complaining about the cold jokes Giovanni Caleb cracks which they do not enjoy.
