Yaa Pono Says He Likes Shatta Wale’s Songs BUT He Dissed Him Because…..

It’s absolutely normal for musicians to be at ‘lyrical war’ in the music industry. It happens in every other country and so it’s expected that once in a whiled, there will be some feud among musicians or celebrities but we never expected a beef to start between Yaa Pono and Shatta Wale.

The beef between Shatta & Pono started after Pono was not allowed to perform at a show in Cape Coast where Shatta Wale was the headline artiste. The organisers later explained that it was because there was no time as Pono did not come at the time he was given.

Yaa Pono in a recent interview with DJ Black on the Open House Party on Joy FM, the “My Case”  has mentioned that he likes Shatta Wale’s songs but he decided to take him on because Shatta Wale disrespected him.

According to Pono, who’s diss song ‘Gbee Nabu’ became the talk of Social Media after it was released, he only decided  to diss Shatta because he did not show him the necessary respect.

“There’s a lot of disrespect in the game that I don’t need to make it right.” he told DJ Black.

“I need to make mine on my path with my people right and I believe when it sounds good in the ears of the other people, everybody is going to follow because respect is the first thing in this world.”

“I recorded this song because, Shatta Wale did a live video calling me his boy and I’m never his boy and I can never be his boy but, I like his songs.” he added.

“It’s not about dividing the fans, it’s about keeping them together so we all preach one thing to them and I am ready for any artiste who will come so we can preach the right thing to the right people.”

Yaa Pono also mentioned in the interview that he will never record a song with Shatta Wale.
