Reno Omokri, the controversial Nigerian author has in his usual fashion taken a swipe at the nations most powerful man, Muhammadu Buhari as the later celebrates his 78th birthday today.
At 78, Reno Omokri reckons Buhari belongs in a retirement home as he lists the sort of downward slopes the president has take Nigeria to since his take over of the reigns of power in 2015.
He insinuated in a long Instagram post that the president has caused more harm than good and need to be on the sidelines for a different person to be at the helm of affairs.
Read what he wrote to Buhari below on his birthday;
“Dear General @MuhammaduBuhari,
On your 78th birthday, I remind you of the 78 farmers whose throats were slit by Boko Haram and the 333 #KankaraStudents abducted by Boko Haram.
I remind you that you met Nigeria as the third fastest growing economy in the world, but today, we are the world headquarters for extreme poverty.
I also remind you that you met Nigeria at 136 on Transparency International’s Corruption Perception Index, but today we are so corrupt that we are at 146. Finally, I remind you that in 2015, Nigeria was the fourth most terrorised country in the world, according to the Global Terrorism Index, but today we are now the third most terrorised nation on Earth.
The truth is clear. At 78, you belong in a retirement home. Go there. I, Reno Omokri, will pay. That is my birthday present to you!”.
