It was all drama at the constituency debate in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency when John Dumelo clapped back at Lydia Alhassan, MP for describing him as unwise.
This reaction from the actor turned politician was as a result of an earlier comment passed by the MP as an answer to a question from the host on the allegation that she blocked John Dumelo from constructing a new drainage system in the area.
According to Lydia Alhassan, John Dumeloe was stopped because he didn’t exercise his discretion and did not seek the necessary permission before embarking on the benevolent act.
In her own words, she said: “…John Dumelo is not a wise man because if he was, he would have known that he couldn’t have just stood up one day to construct a new drainage system in the constituency,” she said amidst an uproar from the crowd.
These words got John Dumelo infuriated who got up to leave after he said he feels he has been disrespected by the MP. Madam Lydia Alhassan then got up and waved his party paraphernalia to convey the message that John Dumelo has nothing to offer.
The 2020 election which is a two-horse race between John Dumelo of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the incumbent MP Madam Lydia Alhassan of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has taken a very interesting turn. Both are bent on leaving no stone unturned in their quest to win in the upcoming election.
